The first two weeks have been quite exhausting for everyone here at Stoney Brook. We've all been battling some sort of chest cold, sore throat, and achy body, which has made the days feel longer and more challenging. The fatigue has settled in, and it seems like we are all in need of a little extra rest and self-care. However, amidst this wave of discomfort, our joy has come from these sweet puppies, who have been a constant source of happiness and laughter. Watching them grow and double in size has been a delightful distraction from our ailments. Every day, we are amazed at how quickly they are developing, transforming from tiny, helpless creatures into lively little bundles of energy. Roxy, their devoted mother, has been receiving high-protein canned food, complemented by generous servings of 80/20 hamburger meat and salmon oil, which she seems to relish. This nutritious diet is crucial, as she needs to keep up with the demands of nursing these little guinea pigs, who are growing at an astonishing rate. In addition to this, kibble is always readily available for her, ensuring that she has the energy necessary to care for her adorable litter.
As we monitor their progress, I find myself in need of names for these cuties! They are opening their eyes now, a significant milestone that fills us with excitement and wonder. With each passing day, they are becoming more mobile, transitioning from simple scoots to wobbly lunges that showcase their growing strength and coordination. It is heartwarming to see them explore their surroundings, even if their movements are still a bit clumsy. Each puppy has its own unique personality beginning to shine through, making the task of naming them even more special. I can already envision the joyful chaos that will ensue as they continue to grow and develop their little quirks. I eagerly await suggestions for names that will capture their individuality and charm!
